Serenity Sunday...week 33

“Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”

Whose woods these are I think I know.

His house is in the village, though;

He will not see me stopping here

To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer

To stop without a farmhouse near

Between the woods and frozen lake

The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake

To ask if there is some mistake.

The only other sounds the sweep

Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

Robert Frost

1923

This is perhaps, my favorite poem. You can picture the scene as he's writing it. Amazing.....inspiration...

  1. That's exactly how it looks now at my house, minus the snow of course. Some days I do wish we had more snow in our area. This pic is so serene and pretty.

  2. Thanks for your visit to my side of the world. Egypt is one place we haven't been to yet. I have a friend from Honeyoye, which is why we were in Canandaigua over the summer. Have a great week! :) Tammy
